- Kühn, Dreigliederungs-Zeit. On pp.185-195, Kühn’s book reproduces Moltke’s memoir. On p.189 can be found Moltke’s mention that the original invasion plan entailed German armies getting to France via both Holland and Belgium.
- As mentioned elsewhere in this graphic history, Steiner held that “cultural life” includes science, religion, art, language, the media, and especially education of every kind at every level.
- Towards Social Renewal, the current English translation of Steiner’s Die Kernpunkte der sozialen Frage, has on p.69 the words “really free contractual relation” instead of “truly free contractual relation...” The original German has “wirklich freies…” I translate that as “truly free” because the word “really” can sometimes mean “very,” and I don’t think that was Steiner’s meaning, but rather “actually,” or “truly.”

It seems worth emphasizing that Steiner's suggestions for social reform cannot be summed up in any one type of organizational or institutional arrangement. On the contrary, in Steiner's sociological work there is always a tension between ideals and concrete realizations. No concrete realization can fully embody ideals. Thus every attempt at concrete realization is properly subject to criticism and transformation. - Steiner. Towards Social Renewal, pp.78, 82.
